SPD Playlists: Charlie Hess
Charlie Hess lives in the middle of Los Angeles and works in the studio behind his house, while his clients and peers are elsewhere. "But I'm never alone," he says, "because I have my music with me always. And I can play it as loud as I want!" To keep him from going stir crazy, Hess craves uplifting and soulful music. "My playlist tends to be mostly Soul, R&B, New School, Old School, and every other version of heartfelt, soulful music along the way."
He says of his SPD playlist, "[It] covers everything from Archie Bell & The Dells to Flying Lotus and FKA Twigs, with stops for D'Angelo, Frank Ocean, Tribe Called Quest, Hall & Oats, and Erykah Badu. Hope you all find a few new discoveries along the way."
