Junior Designer

Future US Music Division is seeking a talented, energetic and creative junior designer to join its team. Reporting to the Design Director, this person will primarily be responsible for marketing and promotional materials as well as contributing to a monthly and two bi-monthly music magazines. This job is located in the Flatiron District of New York City. Job Responsibilities • Work directly with the Sales and Marketing team to create and update banner ads and eblasts (Flash/HTML knowledge a plus but not required), media kits, presentations and mock-ups. • Work on front- and back-of-the-book sections of our magazines and occasionally on feature stories. • Assist the art department with organizational and administrative tasks, including archiving, scanning, invoices and returns.

Production Assistant/Show Coordinator

Your primary duties will be related to our juried competitions. You'll be responsible for logging in entries into our database using FilemakerPro, preparing pdfs for judging, communicating with entrants, gathering the hi-res files of the winners, sending out winner announcements requesting credits, sizing images and making tiffs of all winning entries. In addition you'll be proofreading text and other administrative duties as related to our shows. We have three shows with 3x3 and four shows with Creative Quarterly plus our twice-annual 3x3 Magazine, our quarterly magazine and annual 3x3 Directory. In addition you will be responsible for updating our database, updating our 3x3 web site with each new issue, photoshop work, answering the phones and supervising our weekly mailings of magazines and books. Hourly salary is commiserate with abilities plus we do have a transportation allowance. Hours are 10:15am to 6:15pm M-F. We're located in Brooklyn, 45 minutes from Union Square on the F/G Train. The studio is located one block from Prospect Park.

Freelance Photo Editor for Clear Channel Digital

Clear Channel Digital is searching for an freelance online photo editor for a three week period. The Photo Editor will work closely with the existing photo team to create format specific galleries to run on our network of 750 websites. The music formats range from Rock and Pop to Country and News, so the ideal candidate will have a vast knowledge of not just different music genres, but entertainment as well. Although the current photo team will be supplying several gallery concepts to the freelancer, this position works differently than many photo editing positions. The candidate will also be responsible for not only finding photos for the existing gallery concepts, but helping to come up with new gallery ideas, research them, find the photos as well as caption.

Graphic Designer

This position reports to the Creative Director The Art Director must have a strong creative vision, a high level of design sophistication, and strong typography and conceptualization skills. The position requires significant experience in InDesign, as well as a keen eye for color correction. Strong organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must have 5+ years of magazine design experience, managerial experience, and a thorough knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Woodwing or K4.

Penton Media ART Intern

The Penton Electronics Group of Penton Media is interested in starting an 
internship program for any interested Design students who would like the
 opportunity of having professional experience at a New York City media 
company.



We would like to have an intern with experience in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and
 Photoshop commit up to 20 hours a week here in our NY Chelsea office. Experience with video editing, Flash or Web
based software would also be helpful but not mandatory.



The intern would work directly with the Art Director or the Group Design Manager in the creation of technical diagrams in Illustrator, processing of photographs for 
Web or print use, editing of video, and layout of one of our ten 
publications.

People Magazine on the IPAD is looking for full-time freelance associate print designers.

Responsibilities include translating print design into ipad cells, creating additional interactive content solely for the tablet, and working closely with editors to ensure continuity of the People brand. Good Housekeeping magazine is looking for a 2010 Fall ART INTERN. The right candidate will hold many of the same responsibilities as a full-time staff member, which include conceptualizing art for stories, collaboration with the editorial and photo staff, and designing layouts.
