    Lauren Publications is seeking a mid-level graphic designer with a love for publication layout and smart magazine design. The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented and is an avid lover and consumer of magazines. The ability to juggle multiple projects is essential, and good time management is a must to handle strict monthly deadlines. Candidate must also work well with creative director and editorial staff to maintain a cohesive look and message throughout all publications. Essential Responsibilities: The editorial designer will work alongside and under the direction of the creative director. Designer will be responsible for much of the layout of three monthly publications, one quarterly publication and one biannual publication. The editorial designer will also be responsible for occasional marketing or advertising collateral and event signage, as well as some Web design and email marketing.

  • Job Requirements: • 2 years minimum experience in the design field • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a similar field • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign CS5 • Photo editing skills are a must, as well as a working knowledge of Illustrator • Experience in illustration and/or photography is a plus, as well as a basic familiarity with Dreamweaver and html Magazine experience is a plus but not a must. Candidate, however, should be well versed in page layout, with excellent typography skills. Great written and verbal communication abilities are a major plus. Designer should have a strong ability to conceptualize art to complement the editorial content and take ideas all the way from thumbnails to completed design. The ideal candidate is a flexible team player who is willing to take on multiple roles if necessary.
