Good Housekeeping Magazine 2013 Spring Art Intern

Good Housekeeping Magazine is looking for a 2013 spring ART INTERN. The right candidate will hold many of the same responsibilities as a full-time staff member, including concepting art for stories, collaborating with the editorial and photo staff, and designing smart, attractive layouts. The intern will also have the opportunity to help style and prop in-house photo shoots, allowing he/she to follow his/her vision through from concept all the way to the finished page. Women's Health Internship

Women's Health magazine is currently looking for an enthusiastic art intern for the Spring 2013 semester. This would be an unpaid internship running January-April for academic credit only. A commitment of at least 2 days a week is required. Duties will include assisting the art department and working directly with the Art Director designing layouts for FOB sections. Teen Vogue Art Department Intern

We are looking for creative people to intern with the Teen Vogue Editorial Art Department for Spring (starting in January 2013, finishing in May2013). This is a wonderful opportunity to gain work experience in the magazine industry. Applicants must be able to receive school credit! We are looking for people who can multi-task, who learn fast, have a desire to work in publication, have a passion for graphic design, and be skilled in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator; Photoshop a plus! Interns are responsible for creating new design elements for the magazine, updating the books and minis, researching in the Conde Nast library for fashion stories, scanning important research material, ...etc. This is a very hands-on internship, interns are always busy! School credit is a must.

New York Magazine - Art Department Intern (short term)

New York Magazine seeks a full-time intern from mid-December to late-January. The job entails supporting the magazine's art department in all capacities. Responsibilities will include preparing entries for competitions, filing invoices and expenses, maintaining archives, researching visual ideas, maintaining the mini board for the issue, and fulfilling various administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and capable of juggling day-to-day administrative tasks. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a plus.

Candidates should be eager to learn about how the design department of a national magazine runs. Responsibilities include visual research, maintaining wall of printed layouts, minor imaging work, and editorial design projects. Candidates should be pro-active, have strong communication and organizational skills, and a strong working knowledge of CS5; particularly InDesign and Photoshop. ART DIRECTOR / Print & Digital

We have an immediate opening for an Art Director that possesses high level B2B and consumer design skills to layout multiple publications and other multimedia products. You must be capable of multitasking in a very fast pace environment. Responsibilities will also include hiring photographers and illustrators, designing covers, designing interior pages, developing maps and charts. In addition you will collaborate and participate in other design projects with the creative team. This position requires excellent management and communication skills as well as advanced print magazine production, user interface design and digital production skills. Art Director

ALIVE seeks a full-time Art Director to join its team. The role will ultimately be responsible for the creative planning, layout and pre-press duties of ALIVE's print publication, with responsibility for photography assignments, photo shoot coordination, intern management and layout of all editorial pages. Senior Designer

The Senior Designer is responsible for designing front-of-the-book stories for the print magazine as well as translating them for the iPad and Android tablets under the direction of the Design Director and Creative Director. He/she is responsible for stories from concept to completion. The Senior Designer will collaborate with the photo team in defining the visual direction for stories and will help edit pickup film. He/she will collaborate with editors and as well as other designers and the production department during the monthly design and closing cycles of the print magazine and tablet editions. The designer will commission illustration and contribute to art discussions regarding visual concepts for the issues. * Design innovative, dynamic front-of-book layouts for the print magazine and for the tablet editions under the supervision of the Design Director. * Guide assigned stories through the entire production process (visual concept, image choice, layout, print orders, page files, page proofs). * Commission illustrations.
