Art Intern
Family Circle magazine is looking for an enthusiastic intern for the art department. We are seeking someone who is available 3 days a week. The intern will work closely with all designers and photo editors and will be responsible with helping with the design of both front of book and back of book pages, assisting with photo research, circulating layouts, updating mini boards, and a few administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must be very organized, have excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, and have the ability to work in MS Office programs. This is a hands-on experience to learn how a magazine is developed. This internship is paid and also accepts students who need school credit.Senior Designer

Good Housekeeping, a magazine of Hearst Corporation, is seeking a fall photo intern for the FALL 2013 semester. The atmosphere is fun, relaxed, and very educational. Interns will learn about the daily activities of a large-scale magazine. This includes publishing, photo editing, photo research, and photo shoots (and much more). Interns will be primarily responsible for helping the photo team do photo research. Additionally, interns will be able to visit the in-house studio and go on location shoots with the editors. Photo Intern will assist the editors in various administrative tasks including contact with photographers worldwide. Basic experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites is necessary. The internship includes a stipend that covers the costs of travel to and from our offices by subway, and can be done for academic credit. The intern will also be working with the magazines photo editors to provide administrative support, learn effective techniques for researching high-quality imagery and gain experience in how photography assignments are directed. Other duties will include maintaining the editorial wall and participating in art meetings. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and proficiency in MAC, Creative Suite (especially Indesign and Photoshop) and some knowledge of DPS. S/He should be enthusiastic and have the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines. We are looking for someone that is proactive and takes initiative on problem-solving issues.
