We need a problem solver to manage the technical demands of translating our print magazine to the iPad on a bi-weekly basis. The position is permanent part-time: Thursday afternoon through Saturday, every other week. The position also requires some light design. Assc. Art Director

This is an entry-level contract and paid design position for those looking to get experience and a foot in the door. The Assistant Art Director will report to the Art Director and Executive Editor and be primarily responsible for the creation, construction, and digital adaptation of the advertorial content for four product guides--buyer's guide, apparel guide, resort/heli guide, and holiday gift guide. During the development of the advertorial catalog pages, they will be expected to maintain consistent contact with the respective editors appropriate for that content to ensure that all the brands/resorts are meeting the project guidelines of the catalog pages. In addition, they will supply the sales team with updated PDF proofs of the advertorial pages for the clients to review and approve after no more than three separate revisions. They may also be asked to help out with various random projects as they arise during the production season. The Assistant Art Director must possess the following technical and personal skills: - Strong practical understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Working knowledge of clipping paths and image preparation techniques for print and web output - A good understanding of typographic, print, and web design theory - A sterling attitude and work ethic The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill sets: - Excellent understanding of information design, relationships, and hierarchies - Strong illustrative and logo design skills - Inquisitive observation skills and a keen mind for alternative solutions - Passion for graphic, print, and web design - A love of the outdoors, mountains, snow, and skiing (or snowboarding) This is a contract position and the selected candidate will receive payment upon completion of each stage of the project.

Tablet Designer

Photo Editor

Money magazine and Money.com are searching for a photo editor with at least 4 years of experience.  The candidate must have the skills to produce a wide array of photographic styles, from portraits to conceptual still life to reportage to architectural landscape.  The ideal applicant will bring his or her own large roster of regular collaborators (photographers, stylists, hair & make-up), as well as have an eye for fresh and current talent.  The editor is expected to be comfortable as an art director on-set, whether on location or in-studio.  The candidate must be a resourceful researcher, capable of combing a photographer's archives, stock and government agencies, as well as found sources.  Experience photo editing for websites, as well as shooting and retouching skills are a plus.  Those considered will show proof that they can create quality imagery with spare, thoughtful, and concise production crews that stay under budget.  Above all, the person for this job must be a master conceptual thinker that can collaborate with our art and edit staffs to make pictures that are meaningful and impactful.

Marie Claire is looking for interns in the art department for the Summer. Candidates must have a strong interest in magazine design, photography, typography and love for fashion.
