FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER

FREELANCE OPPORTUNITY for a graphic designer well versed in INDESIGN & INDESIGN TO INCOPY WORKFLOW as well as having a strong background/experience with using CONTENT MANAGERS with some HTML knowledge for our web/digital needs. Previous experience with medical journal/magazine layout is preferred. Cancer Control: Journal of the Moffitt Cancer Center is a medical journal for oncologists that is published quarterly & is indexed with the National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Thomson Reuters & other indexing sources. We are currently in print & PDF format; however, after the October 2015 issue we will discontinue the print version & launch a new fully digital version of the journal. The designer will be responsible for both the PDFs & digital content of each article. Although our new web site is under construction, PDFs of some recent issues can be viewed on our temporary landing page at http://www.cancercontroljournal.org NOTE: This type of design work offers little to no creativity - it is very technical work & the articles/issues must be consistent in format/design. Some designers find this as a nice break from having to be creative all the time & it balances well with their other client's work because they know what is expected for each article/issue we send their way & all components are supplied. The candidate must be very detailed oriented, very particular about aesthetics, carefully/thoroughly follow e-mailed instructions and marked up copy (Adobe PDF mark-ups). They are expected to proof all of their work completely before submitting icap & PDF files back to us. All artwork, images & figures are supplied by CCJ but on occasion, the designer may have to recreate an illustration (such as an algorithm or chart) if I high res file is not available to us. Some Photoshop work of surgical or pathology images may also be required from time to time. Harper's Bazaar Art & Design Intern
