Senior Designer, Variety

Variety seeks a passionate and talented full-time Senior Designer to collaborate with the creative team on its weekly magazine. The position must hit the ground running, ready to work primarily on designing front and back of book sections, features, assign illustration and collaborate with editors. We seek energy and intelligence in the candidate's work, which is key to our book and lends itself well to our editorial team's in-depth news and analytical approach. Attention to detail and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is required. Freelance Photo + Graphics Editor, foodandwine.com + FWx.com

Food & Wine and FWx, its energetic younger sibling focused on the overlap of food, drink, travel and tech from a millennial perspective, are looking for a Photo and Graphics Editor. This role will act as the primary source for the visual components of the site including original photos, infographics and animations. The photo editor will not only create engaging images of his/her own but will track down the visuals needed to make any piece complete. YOU WILL Research and edit photos for daily posts and slideshows on FWx.com and foodandwine.com. Create engaging, shareable graphics and infographics to compliment and enhance articles. Shoot original photos in house and at events or venues.Track photo use in the FWx and Food & Wine content management systems. Building galleries in the FWx content management system.Pitch ideas for photo driven pieces that fit the brand.

Scientific Illustrator

Science's Digital Media Design group is currently seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, scientific illustrator to join its creative team. The ideal candidate will not only have strong illustration and design sensibilities, but will also excel in assembling and telling visual stories utilizing complex scientific data. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Graphics Managing Editor. Major duties and responsibilities: • Create scientific visualizations and illustrations in tight deadlines for online scientific journals (Science Translational Medicine, Science Signaling, Science Immunology, and Science Robotics). • Research and create digital and print visualizations, illustrations and information graphics for the Perspectives and News sections of Science magazine. • Participate in the planning and design of interactive graphics. • Collaborate with Producers to promote our work on the website and social networks.
