Graphic Designer - Bloomingdale's

Bloomingdales has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate Print Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team. We are looking for a candidate with strong conceptual skills and exceptional talent in graphic design. The Print Graphic Designer is responsible for creating on-brand print executions for Men's, Home, Kids, Registry and Outlet departments and reports to the Associate Creative Director. Essential Functions: • Design contemporary & exciting print creative for all of the above departments; • Support, ACD, SAD & AD in developing concepts, designs & moodboards; • Develop campaign branding, print catalogs, promotional editorial, newspaper & magazine ads and various promotional print materials; • Comfortable taking projects from brief to execution in a fast paced environment; • Creation of formats and comprehensive layouts, mood boards, manipulation of references for presentation purposes, preparation of production ready files; • Implementing efficient workflows, processes & design specs for production; • Engage with internal & external clients, creative, photographers and pre-production; teams in color management and retouching; • Research and maintain creative reference libraries for print design, typography, photography, fashion, home, food and culture trends; • Act as a department ambassador for each FOB.

Designer/art director

(temporary, full-time position) Chicago Magazine is seeking a talented, freelance designer/art director. This person will work closely with both art and edit teams to produce a wide range of editorial content. Duties will include designing front and back of book sections of the magazine, occasional features, directing photoshoots and hiring illustrators. Candidates must have editorial experience and possess a high level of design sophistication, a keen eye for photography, illustration, and have exceptional typography skills. The position will span ten weeks, starting in mid-September. This position is on-site, located in Chicago.

Associate Art Director

Houstonia Magazine is seeking a self-motivated, meticulous, team-player for an immediate opening in the position of Associate Art Director, in Houston, Texas. The Associate Art Director position is responsible for designing editorial layouts for narrative and service features, and magazine departments, assigning photography and illustrations, and color-proofing photos.

Design Internship, SLAM Magazine

SLAM is the No. 1 outlet in the world of basketball. We cover all things hoop-related--from NBA, college ball, and high school hoops to old-school stories, kicks, streetball, and the fashion of the game. We are seeking an enthusiastic design intern to assist in the layout and production of our print magazine and to contribute to our website and social media graphics. 

Candidates must be able to earn college credit from the internship position. This position is based in New York City.

Responsibilities include:
-Create custom graphics for social media
-Prepare/size photos for online and social media formats
-Perform photo research
-Prepare magazine files for pre-press
-Occasionally design magazine pages under the direction of the Creative Director
-Assist the Creative Director with daily assigned tasks

Requirements:
-Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop 
-Excellent sense of page layout and design
-Strong typographic skills
-Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
-Eagerness to learn, enthusiasm and an easy-going attitude
-Must be currently working towards a BA or certificate from a Graphic Design or Fine Arts program or a related field
-Photography skills are a plus

Multimedia Photo Creator

Art Director, Dallas Observer

Dallas Observer has an immediate opening for an experienced editorial art director for both its online and in-print publications. The art director is responsible for all multimedia efforts, primarily overseeing photography which includes slide shows, as well as videography and illustration.
