Multimedia Photo Creator, Men's Health

• Job Description:
  
  Men's Health, the world's largest men's magazine, is looking for an enthusiastic, inspired, collaborative, and well-organized multimedia image creator, with the ability to photograph products and portraits to join our team in the New York office! The creator is a hybrid of sorts, gifted and inquisitive about visual approaches to storytelling and with a willingness to learn on the job as we explore new approaches. They will primarily work on FOB sections for the print publication, but will also contribute creative support to online and social initiatives. 
  
  
  The main responsibilities include:
  • Conceptualizing and pitching photo treatments for print, web, and social platforms with the director of photography, creative director, art directors and editors.
  • Executing all aspects of photo shoot production: researching, pitching and assigning photographers, casting and hiring talent, hiring and managing stylists and prop designers, securing locations and permits, selecting wardrobe, scouting locations, generating estimates and staying on budget
  • Photographing products and portraits, on occasion in the office studio.
  • Researching superior and brand appropriate images for print and offering creative input on web and social initiatives.
  
  
  The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 5 (+) years of photo editing experience in an editorial magazine setting, and have demonstrated shoot production experience, excellent contacts with photographers, agents, stock houses, model and stylist agencies, etc.
  • Experience with photographing still life in a studio setting and portraits.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and meticulous attention to detail, with a commitment to high quality work
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects across platforms, meet deadlines and communicate throughout the process
  • Enthusiasm for incredible images, a can-do attitude, and ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
