Editorial Designer

Foreign Policy is looking for a versatile designer to join our editorial team and work on our digital platforms and bi-monthly print magazine. This position is based in our Washington, D.C., office.   The ideal candidate has experience working with editors and writers to design and execute editorial experiences that are as compelling and accessible as they are beautiful and content-enhancing. In an average week, you can juggle creating photo illustrations for opinion articles; communicating with and editing photographers and artists around the world; designing mobile-first digital presentations and collaborating with developers to build them; and helping with photo research for the website or department layout for the print magazine.   You should be obsessed with details, up on current news and magazine design trends, an efficient and professional communicator, and able to manage your time effectively. You don't need to be an international relations nerd or have prior experience working at politics or foreign policy publications, but it helps to be a bit of a news junkie and willing to put in the effort to really understand and best tell stories from all over the globe.
