Responsibilities include designing dynamic feature and front-of-book layouts for print as well as rethinking print layouts for the iPad interactive digital edition. Applicants must have previously worked in magazines at some level and must be able to follow assigned stories through the entire production process from image selection, layout, to page proofs.
The ideal candidate should possess: A strong design background (3-6 years design experience), a sophisticated sense of design, a strong grasp of typography, extreme attention to detail, great communication skills, excellent time-management, the ability to multi-task, as well as an in-depth knowledge of InDesign and CS5. Experience in tablet design preferred but not mandatory.
