The creative department at Men's Health Magazine is currently accepting resumes for the 2012 Winter Internship Program. Internships are open to students eligible for academic credit from an accredited college or university. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, previous intern experience, and an interest in photography and design. Knowledge of design software is appreciated, but we are willing to train a suitable candidate in certain areas if they need help.
Internships are based in the Company's New York City location, very close to Grand Central Station on the MTA.
We are seeking an Art/Photo intern, reporting to the Creative Director, Production Director, and Photography Director so that they can gain a broad understanding of how the magazine works, while assisting where they can in
our busy work environment. Responsibilities may include updating a layout wall and other materials for department meetings, assisting designers in basic layouts, assisting photo editors in shoot production, location scouting, film/disk returns, maintaining prop closet, receiving art,
ordering prints/hi-res files, photo research, and occasional administrative duties.
The ideal candidate will be a major in art, photography, graphic design, or communications, with proficiency in a MAC operating system and experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. We are willing to train the
right candidate on design software as needed. He or she should be enthusiastic and have the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines. We are looking for someone that is proactive and takes initiative on problem-solving issues. The candidate should be highly organized,
detail-oriented, an excellent communicator and team player.
