Editorial Design Intern

Jet Magazine seeks a third or fourth year* graphic design student looking to gain a rich experience in editorial Graphic Design. The intern will assist in the daily workflow of the magazine. Duties will include: updating layouts, minor imaging work, and design. Candidates should have an interest in magazine publishing, strong working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop. The qualified student will report to Creative team members and have an opportunity to work with the premiere African-American newsweekly in the nation, JET magazine.

Senior Designer

Editorial / Senior Designer Jet Magazine seeks a designer to join their Chicago-based editorial team. Preferably the candidate should have 2-3 years experience designing for a major publication. The position reports to the Art Director and is responsible for the design and management of several sections in the book sections of the publication including but not limited to Front of Book, Entertainment section, Fashion, and Sports. The qualified candidate must be capable of working both collaboratively and independently on projects. Be able to take the lead on daily section requirements and deliver creative responses to designs. This candidate must be able to work quickly, multi-task and work well with others. An interest in African-American culture and contemporary view on fashion, lifestyle and entertainment is a plus. Compensation: Depending on Experience
