Boston magazine seeks an imaginative, ambitious, and collaborative Deputy Art Director to join our design team. Qualified candidates for this full-time position will have 5-7 years of professional experience and a portfolio demonstrating strong typography skills, experience directing photoshoots, and an appreciation for contemporary illustration. Responsibilities include: • Working closely with the Design Director to plan and execute feature, section, and department layouts • Commissioning and directing work from contributing photographers, illustrators, and graphic artists • Finding ways to tell stories graphically and in unconventional ways • Nurturing and cultivating a deep roster of contributing photographers, illustrators and graphic artists • Directing food, fashion, and portrait photo shoots as appropriate • Mentoring a young and eager team of design interns
