Design Director

Design Director Job Description Fairchild Fashion Media, which includes WWD, Footwear News, Beauty Inc, M and Fairchild Summits, is seeking a talented Design Director, Marketing in our New York offices. The Design Director is responsible for overseeing visual direction for all print and digital branding, events, and promotional materials as well as managing a dynamic design department. Responsibilities: • Manage and participate in ideation, creation and delivery of: o Branding ads (print and digital) o Custom creative for advertising clients (digital and print) o High-impact proprietary ad units (digital and print) o Event design for high-end summits and events (including brand identity, event design, and collateral) o Videos/sizzle reels o PPT and Keynote presentations • Oversee day-to-day operations of Design department including managing team of designers and freelancers. Must have: • 5-7 years of design experience (at least 2 of which should be direct management experience) • Risk-taking in design, pushes past the obvious to make something outstanding • Strong grasp of user interface design, brand development, digital marketing/advertising and creative processes • Strong management experience • Strong conceptual thinker who is prolific with ideas • Have excellent knowledge of Adobe CC, PowerPoint and Keynote • Be a positive and collaborative team member and leader who inspires passion, dedication, and excellence from others • Ego-free. Digital Designer

Digital Designer Location: Los Angeles, CA PMC is looking for a digital designer in our Los Angeles office to create cutting-edge designs across our editorial brands. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of web design and production experience and is capable of solving day-to-day design tasks with creative solutions that will have a positive impact on the organization. The Digital Designer must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with product, development, editorial and other departments to implement better design solutions across our brands. You must be a creative thinker, detail-oriented, confident, and able to express ideas in an articulate, well-thought-out manner. Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines is a must. Responsibilities: • Interpret user behaviors and analytics in order to improve UX/UI with new features and design solutions • Create detailed wireframes and concepts for development • Active participation in research and strategy discussions with product managers and stakeholders • Present concepts in various stages of completion to large and small groups • Manage your time wisely and keep the team up-to-date • Work closely with development and engineering teams to translate, implement, and safeguard the design integrity of prototypes and final products • Guide and participate in the testing process to interpret user feedback, usage data, industry trends, etc. • Stay current on design and web trends and educate others on best practices
