Art Director Job Description All About Beer Magazine seeks a creative, detail-oriented art director who will work closely with editors and staff to guide the magazine's visual direction for both print and digital. The art director will steer the overall look and forward vision for the AAB brand in the bi-monthly magazine and online. Success in this role comes from executing constant design growth and improvement while telling the story of today's beer and brewing landscape. Responsibilities - Lead the magazine (published every two months) through the design and production process - Brainstorm and design cover for each issue - Create, design, and supervise production of all pages of the magazine - Source and edit feature photos for the magazine; edit beer photos; and commission illustrations, photos, and infographics - Work with managing editor to secure space for budgeted editorial content - Work with sales team to secure space for budgeted advertising - Work closely with editorial team on deadline to ensure edits are reflected in final layout - Work with printer to ensure successful delivery of final files - Work with web team to package each issue into a digital edition and optimize feature photos for allaboutbeer.com - Work quickly to make necessary improvements and continually stays on top of trends, visual improvements and competition to make sure our media doesn't go stale - Participate in weekly editorial call This position is part-time with opportunities for growth.
