Town & Country seeks a designer with a background in visual arts who can work efficiently and creatively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Design FOB and BOB pages for T&C monthly and T&C Travel, including special weddings sections and custom units. • Place high-res images in layouts for all sections of magazine. • Generate contract proofs and tweak pages before shipping. • Update templates. • Maintain "dummy" books and layout wall for EIC and art department. At least one to two years' experience at a print publication, preferably a magazine, required; knowledge of K4 or Woodwing publishing systems preferred. Must be fluid in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Town & Country Deputy Art Director

Town & Country Magazine is looking for a Deputy Art Director. Duties include the following, in collaboration with the Design Director and Executive Artistic Director: • Design FOB and feature layouts for T&C's monthly and special editions. • Oversee two junior designers. • Run the art department in the design director's absence. • Manage in-house digital imaging specialist and color-correction workflow, adhering to magazine's prepress deadlines. • Assign illustrations. • Generate and review contract proofs. • Work with design director on type face selection and other design elements to keep refining the look of T&C. Must be an expert problem solver with the ability to work efficiently, quickly, and diplomatically. Roughly 10 years of previous design experience required, at least half at a magazine. Knowledge of CS5, InCopy, and Woodwing or K4 helpful.
