New Jersey Monthly--the leading regional magazine in the state--is looking for an associate art director. This person will be responsible for front and back of book pages (from concept through completion), special projects as needed, and art department administrative tasks.
The right candidate must have a passion for editorial art direction and design, be great at crafting type, and be able to carry the load of a substantial part of a busy two-person department, covering for the art director in her absence.
Great design and communication skills, expert adobe software skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a positive and pro-active attitude are required. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of editorial experience, ideally at a consumer publication. Design for multiple digital platforms is a plus.
This is a great opportunity for someone to work with top photographers and illustrators and play a key role with a highly experienced fun editorial team. We are located in the pretty town of Morristown, NJ. Excellent benefirs. EOE.
