Senior Art Director

Atlanta magazine is looking for a Senior Art Director, who will be part of a three-person creative team responsible for the overall look of the Atlanta magazine brand, spanning print, digital, and social media. Reporting to the Design Director, the Senior Art Director will work closely with photographers and writers in conceiving and executing visually inviting and provocative designs on all of our platforms, but primarily the print edition. S/he will also be proactive in pitching ideas for the magazine. The Senior Art Director will also be a pivotal player in an upcoming redesign of the magazine. Job responsibilities include: * Working with the edit team in planning out section content and art elements. * Collaborating with the Design Director. * Clearly communicating assignments to contributing photographers, illustrators and graphic artists * Finding ways to tell stories graphically and in unconventional and non-linear ways * Participating in -- and occasionally leading -- brainstorming sessions, suggesting heds and deks, and coming up with story ideas * Cultivating a deep roster of contributing photographers, illustrators and graphic artists * Directing photo shoots as appropriate.

Boston magazine is currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and talented Deputy Art Director to join its art team. The candidate will have a chance to make an impact on our award-winning suite of publications: Boston magazine, Boston Home, and Boston Weddings.The qualified candidate should have a sophisticated design sense, strong grasp of typography, great attention to detail, and possess the ability to manage a project from conception to completion. He/she should be able to work on a small team, and be very deadline-oriented.
