Marketing Communications Specialist 3 (Designer, The Penn Stater Magazine)
The Penn Stater magazine is seeking a Designer to join our team that produces an award-winning bi-monthly magazine for the country's largest alumni association (more than 176,000 members). This position reports to the Art Director and is responsible for the design of front- and back-of-book department pages and the occasional feature. In addition to design, duties include photo research; prepping digital files for prepress; trafficking files through our production process; working closely with freelance illustrators; and participating in planning and brainstorming meetings with the rest of the magazine staff.
Candidates should have the ability to take a project from concept to completion; be proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; and excel working both independently and in a creative team environment. The successful candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
