Jet Magazine is seeking an Editorial Art Director to fill a temporary role. The Art Director develops complex graphic design solutions and manages day-to-day art processes for the magazine.You will be primarily accountable for the magazine's design, layout and illustration utilizing the latest software and editorial design techniques. Other Duties Include: - Creates compelling editorial designs for Jet magazine intended to engage, attract and sell. - Illustrates or acquires images to be used in a variety of print applications. - Develops designs that purposefully integrate typographic, photographic, and illustrative elements. - Leads a creative work group and provides art direction for design/photography staff. - Maintains design principles ensuring consistency across brands and throughout the publication. - Works with the creative team and management in a collaborative work environment to produce designs that will directly contribute to the brands continued growth and success. - Consults with Editorial staff to establish efficient timelines and creative layouts. - Ensures accuracy of all 'proof' material in collaboration with Pre-Media department prior to actual production. - Assists in the development of new brand identities and effective strategies for implementation and growth.  -Other duties as assigned by the creative director and editor-in-chief
