The editorial art department at Cooking Light--the country's largest epicurean magazine--seeks a passionate and energetic Assistant Designer to join our creative team in Birmingham, AL. The Assistant Designer will design various front-of-book stories, and translate these print layouts for our tablet editions. The assistant will also perform light administrative duties for the Creative Director, including managing her schedule and filing expenses.
The ideal candidate will possess:
· Excellent layout and typographic skills
· Fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite
· Relentless attention to detail
· Ability to take direction and work closely with other team members
· Exceptional time-management skills with capacity to juggle multiple tasks
· Past publication internship or work experience required
· Tablet experience a plus
