Art Director

Texas Monthly magazine is currently seeking an enthusiastic, hard working, and highly confident art director to join its creative team. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Assist in supervising the art department staff • Collaborate with creative director on special issues and redesigns • Generate concepts and provide design solutions for stories • Supervise the design process of the front-of-book, feature well, and back-of-book, from initial concepts to issue shipment • Design a minimum of two features per issue • Assign art department issue design duties each month • Design approximately four to six front-and back-of-book pages each month • Design approximately four large, multi-page, complex service packages a year • Assign photography and illustrations • Color-proof photos and final page layouts • Provide occasional design needs for web and digital platforms Position is located in Austin, TX.
