Art Director, Culture magazine

Culture magazine is seeking a highly motivated, confident, and creative Art Director to lead design on the magazine's four seasonal issues and two special annual issues (Best Cheeses of the Year and Cheese+). This experienced individual will be responsible for all print design, from concept to final layout and through the shipping process. The Art Director will have the opportunity to work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to redesign the publication. Tenure-Track Faculty, Assistant or Associate Professor of Illustration

Massachusetts College of Art and Design is seeking an accomplished artist/educator to join our growing illustration program to fill a full-time tenure-track position beginning in the Fall of 2016 at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Our curriculum emphasizes the practice of drawing and painting from observation, in order to acquire depth of understanding beyond surface, and advance the development of personal voice. Since illustrators work with a wide range of media, we are looking for a flexible artist with professional expertise in any of the following areas: drawing and painting, printmaking, experimental and 3D work, narrative work of all kinds, as well as a working knowledge of current practices in digital media. Responsibilities: In addition to teaching 12 credits (currently three 4 credit) courses per semester, the faculty member will be expected to participate in student advising, curriculum development, committee work, various departmental activities and student reviews. An ideal candidate will be qualified to teach a variety of courses within the major, serve as an enthusiastic mentor, assist students in preparation for post-graduate experience and potentially teach on the graduate level. Art/Photo Intern

This opportunity will allow students interested in editorial design to learn directly from HGTV Magazine's art and photo department. Interns will learn what goes into photo research, requesting high resolution images, shopping for props, assisting at photo shoots (in-house and on location), printing/calling in portfolios and much more. The intern will get the chance to shadow the art department and help with brainstorming concepts, updating & designing layouts. John Brown Media is launching an exciting New England food and cooking magazine to be headquartered in Boston. We are seeking a full-time designer to assist the art director in shaping the visual language around the digital and print components of the magazine. SAM is the tri annual publication for the 72,000 graduates of Suffolk University in Boston and other readers on and beyond our campus.
