Jody Quon Named CD at W

WWD reports today (and they would know) that Jody Quon, longtime Director of Photography at New York, has been named Creative Director for W by the magazine's new Editor-in-Chief Stefano Tonchi.

WIRED Names 2 New Art Directors

WIRED CD Scott Dadich announced today two new Art Directors joining the magazine: Alice Cho, currently the AD at Print, and Tim Leong, currently the DD at Complex and the originator of ComicFoundry.com. They are replacing former WIRED ADs Christy Sheppard (now Senior AD with Martha Stewart Living) and Carl DeTorres.

Robert Parsons Launches Robert Parsons Design

Robert Parsons is leaving his position as CD of Northshore and Ocean Home magazines to run his own studio, Robert Parsons Design, out of Newburyport, MA. While maintaining the 2 mags  as clients, he will also do publication design for other pubs as well as website design, identity work, and various other print projects.

Stravinski Pierre, New Associate AD at Esquire

A little Musical Chairs in the Hearst building: Stravinski Pierre is moving from his Associate AD position at Popular Mechanics with DD Michael Lawton to the same position at Esquire with DD David Curcurito.

Dennis Freedman Leaving W

WWD, Fishbowl NY and Styleite all carry the news this morning that Creative Director Dennis Freedman is leaving W after almost 20 years at the magazine. This is the first major masthead change for W since Stefano Tonchi, founding editor of T, The New York Times Style Magazine, was named the new editor at W.
