Student Photo Competition

Calling All Photo Students!
With both of these competition, the winning entries are published in the SPD's hardcover Publication Design Annual -- and this year, for the first time, photography students have the opportunity to be part of this world-class competition, and to have an incredible number of potential future employers see their work in the SPD Annual. Not to mention, a ton of other great prizes, so read on...
We know time is tight (it is for everyone!) so the Competition Chair, Gail Anderson (CD, Design, SpotCo) has made this enticing, and easy: First, Second and Third Place winners will be honored with an Award of Excellence and an invitation to SPD's Annual Awards Gala on May 8th in New York City. Winning entries will appear in Pub 44, SPD's upcoming Annual.
Even better, there's more: we want to help get you off on the right foot, career-wise, so to that end, the First, Second and Third Place winners will also receive SIGNED copies of some of the best contemporary photography books on the market, NEW copies of CS4, the Adobe Creative Suite, magazine subscriptions, and more.
So mark the deadline SOMEPLACE you'll remember (your calendar, your phone, the back of your hand, if you're old-school like us), and download the poster/instructions and entry forms now!
STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
DEADLINE: Wednesday, April 1, 2009
HOW TO ENTER:
We've made submitting easy so it's just a matter of a few clicks. We know you're busy with school, but we promise you it'll be worth your while. Here's what to do:
1. Fill out the entry form and get your instructor to sign-off on your entries. You can submit up to three if you're ambitious (but you can only win once--we want to spread the goodies around).
2. Scan the signed form and attach along with your 72 dpi RGB file (no larger than 5MB) and send to photos@spd.org. We are accepting ONLY digital entries since prints cannot be returned (and we know you're not giving them away).
3. Check back to the SPD website from time to time for updates; we'll let you know what schools are sending entries so the heat will be on.
4. DEADLINE: Wednesday, April 1, 2009. (Not an April Fool's joke. Really.)
5. Questions? Ask us at questions@spd.org
