SPD Playlists: Nathalie Kirsheh

SPD Playlists: Nathalie Kirsheh "Come to think of it, we define music as sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion."

DETAILS's latest Design Director Nathalie Kirsheh listens to music about eighty-percent of the time when designing. "I find it fascinating how inspired my exploration process is propelled by music," she says.  "Come to think of it, we define music as sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. The same can be said for art and design--only substitute sound for image. Good design should stir an emotion."

While Kirsheh has been favoring French and Latin beats lately, the former has always been a part of her life; in fact, these exact songs were played throughout her household growing up.

But that doesn't mean she dislikes modern tunes.  She said, "My list of music changes constantly because I love almost anything that's been on a turntable. Although you'll always hear tracks like "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison and "Fascination Street" by The Cure pop up on my list."
