Deanna sent us this bio as well as recent favorite works she designed and illustrated: "Deanna Donegan is a graphic designer, illustrator, and art director based in New York City. Originally from San Diego, she left the West Coast to study illustration at the School of Visual Arts. She is currently a designer and art director for The New Yorker magazine, where she directs visuals for both print and web."

STEPHEN DOYLE
Stephen sent us this bio as well as recent favorite works he designed and illustrated: "Stephen Doyle is the creative director of Doyle Partners, a design studio of 10 that focuses on creating work across a broad spectrum, from branding, such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, to packaging and graphics for David Byrne, architectural signage and environmental graphics, including work at Rockefeller Center and in Times Square, and way-finding, animations. In the evening, Doyle creates illustrations and constructions for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Wired and others. He is a contributing artist to Vanity Fair. In Doyle's world, humanity rules, ideas cast shadows, and color talks. He received the AIGA medal in 2014, and received the Cooper-Hewitt's National Design Award for Communication in 2010 for his 'ability to give words a deeper meaning.'"

MATT DORFMAN
Matt sent us this bio as well as recent favorite works he designed and illustrated: "Matt Dorfman is a designer, illustrator and art director of The New York Times Book Review. His illustrations have appeared in The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Esquire, Wired, The Atlantic and The New York Times among others. His design work has surfaced on book covers for publishers both large and small in addition to covers for The New York Times Magazine. He has also produced branding and identities for the Serial podcast and Fresh Air with Terry Gross."

CARLOS ZAMORA
Carlos sent us this bio as well as recent favorite works he designed and illustrated: "Zamora graduated from Havana Design Institute (ISDi) in 2000 and worked for four years in prestigious cultural organizations in Havana, Cuba. In 2004 he emigrated to Quito, Ecuador and later arrived in the U.S. in 2006. He lives in the 19th century Victorian neighborhood of Lafayette Square near downtown St. Louis, with his wife Juliana, daughters Aitana and Lucía, and a dog named Luna.



His early professional endeavors in Cuba included The Office of Historical Restoration for Old Havana, Alicia Alonso's National Ballet of Cuba, Casa de las Américas, Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and cigar company Habanos S.A. Between 2000 and 2004 he served as art director for the magazines: Opus Habana, Gaceta de Cuba, Anales del Caribe, Cuba en el Ballet and Conjunto





Currently Zamora works as a creative director at Express Scripts.

 His illustrations have been published by the New York Observer, The Boston Globe, Ad Age, American Lawyer and The Wall Street Journal.

MELINDA BECK
Melinda sent us this bio as well as recent favorite works she designed and illustrated: "Melinda Beck is an Emmy nominated illustrator, animator and graphic designer based in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated summa cum laude in from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her clients include GQ, Nickelodeon, Martha Stewart Living, MTV, Nike, Neiman Marcus, The New York Times, Random House, Simon & Schuster, Target, and Time.
 She received a gold medal for the Society of Illustrators and awards from and publication in annuals including American Illustration, The Art Directors Club, Society of Publication Designers, Communication Arts, Print Magazine, The Society of Illustrators, The Broadcast Design Awards and The AIGA. In addition her work has been exhibited in various shows. Recently a series of her prints was acquired by the Library of Congress for their permanent collection.
 Melinda is currently the vice president of ICON, the Illustration Conference."

MARTIN GEE
Martin Gee sent us this bio as well as recent favorite works he designed and illustrated: "Martin Gee is a Senior Art Director at Time, freelance illustrator and cat whisperer. His path of destruction includes several newspapers and magazines, a website, and concert venue/restaurant chain. He has won an Emmy, awards from a few acronyms (thanks SPD and SOI!) and a fondue set for presentation karaoke/improv. He enjoys everything Star Wars, building Lego robots and living the dream. Martin and Carrie, also a Senior Art Director at Time, were married in front of Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" at MoMa. They reside in Manhattan with their two loafs (aka unemployed cats)."
