Every Day with Rachael Ray (Meredith Corporation) is seeking a graphic design student for a spring internship in the Art Department. The intern will assist in the daily work-flow of the magazine. Duties will include: updating layouts, scanning art, maintaining walls, assisting in design, and some administrative tasks for the design team. Out Magazine: Art Department Internship, Spring 2012

Out Magazine is looking for a motivated Art intern with a passion for editorial design to work 2-3 full days a week during the Spring semester. Intern will work closely with the associate art director and will be responsible for assisting with front of book design and illustrations, photo and concept research, updating the mock-up book, attending meetings, and possibly assisting on still-life and celebrity photo shoots. Freelance Jr. Production Designer

New York Magazine - Weddings New York Magazine is currently seeking a Freelance Jr. Production Designer to assist in the design and production of the Weddings Spring 2012 issue.

The ideal candidate for this position should have 3+ years of experience in editorial design/production and familiarity working with this type of content. Very thorough knowledge of K4 Publishing System and CS5 is a must as well as excellence in handling complex page design and typography.

This position will work very closely with the Art Director, photo editors and editors under tight deadlines. Responsibilities include designing pages, attaching text to layouts, preparing files, creating mini boards of layouts/photos and submitting proofs to editors. Washingtonian Magazine Art Internship

Washingtonian Magazine, located in Washington, DC is currently looking for an enthusiastic art intern for the spring 2012 semester. An ideal candidate has a strong interest in editorial design and a love for the DC area. The candidate must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Conde Nast Internship Opportunity: Details/Photo

Conde Nast is offering a highly competitive and educational photo editorial internship for the Spring 2012 semester at Details magazine. The ideal Candidate should major in photography and have a keen interest in the multi-media industry. S/he should be at least, a college sophomore who will be able to receive credit for participating in this program.  The Intern Program will allow students to gain exposure to the industry and will provide a real-world experience that can be a supplement to classroom studies.

Assistant Art Director, Good Housekeeping

This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer ready to move to the next step at one of the country's largest-circulation womens' magazines. We are looking for someone who is passionate about magazines in general, and women's magazines in particular.

Responsibilities include start-to-finish ownership of front-of-book and back-of-book
pages including developing smart concepts, art directing in-house photo shoots, and

Design/Editing Internship

Variety, the premier entertainment resource, is seeking a Design/Editing Intern to join their Editorial Art department in the Los Angeles office. We are looking for journalism majors with a strong interest in the production side of print publications. Responsibilities include photo research, photo editing, page building and monitoring, chart creation, digital asset management and reporting. This internship pays $10.00 per hour and is based out of Variety's office in Los Angeles, CA.

Senior Designer / Art Director, Conde Nast

Person would be responsible for in-book sections, event collateral, tablet executions, web banners, email campaigns, sweepstakes, contests and a host of other creative and innovative marketing efforts from concept to completion. The art director/senior designer will be responsible for design but also for art directing photo shoots. This position will report to the design director and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team on every assigned project.

An ideal Senior Designer will possess the following:
- Education in Design, Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
- 2 to 4 years experience in a competitive, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working with InDesign and Illustrator files for magazine print advertising.
- Strong image sourcing and editing skills is required.
- Experience with directing and producing photo shoots

Production Design Director

Observer Media Group seeks a Production Design Director to supervise a small team and oversee the production and design of two weekly newspapers, monthly magazines, special advertising sections, marketing and collateral materials, online and in-book ads and client proposals. Candidate must have minimum 5 yrs experience with print production at a professional magazine or newspaper.

Freelance Art Assistant

Elle Decor is seeking a dynamic, driven individual to fill the role of freelance art assistant on the editorial team. Applicants must have a strong interest in both design and photography, possess great communication skills and a strong attention to detail, have excellent time-management skills, work with a budget-conscious mind with has a positive, can-do attitude.

New York Magazine Photo Department Unpaid Spring Internship

New York Magazine is offering an unpaid internship in the photography department for school credit only.

We are looking for someone organized, dedicated and excited to learn how a photo department at a weekly magazine operates. Interns should be very comfortable and effective communicating over the phone, in person, and via e-mail. Experience researching images with stock agencies a plus but not required. Photography, art communications majors or an interest in photography and editing preferred.

Interns should have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently, as well as take directions and work as part of a team. Intern responsibilities include some general administrative duties, photo researching, maintaining photo archives, scouting, assisting on photo shoots, assisting in our photographers studio and maintaining the props closet, calling in products, logging-in and returning artwork, and possibly undertaking some photography assignments if skills permit.
