Design Intern

FLAUNT Magazine is seeking a graphic design student for a non-paid, college-credit internship in its Los Angeles-based Art Department. The intern will assist in the daily workflow of the magazine. Duties will include: updating layouts, maintaining layout wall, minor imaging work, and some design. Candidates should have a strong interest in magazine publishing, good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. A commitment of 2 days a week is required, from 10 am to 6 pm (flexible).

Design Internship, Redbook Magazine

Redbook Magazine (Hearst Corporation) is seeking energetic graphic design students for an internship in the Art Department this Summer in New York City. Candidates should be eager to learn about how the design department of a national magazine runs. Responsibilities include research, maintaining wall of printed layouts, minor imaging work, and general administrative duties such as organizing inspirational reference material, and occasionally assisting the Creative Director. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of CS5; particularly InDesign and Photoshop. Work will be assigned based on ability. Duration: June--August, a commitment of 2-3 days a week is required (10am to 6pm). Most importantly, you MUST be able to receive college credit. Art Production Manager

A major men's magazine is seeking an Art Production Manager. This individual will manage all phases of art production with pre-press vendors, the art department and retouchers. He or she will be responsible for routing editorial changes to the Men's Health creative department. The Art Production Manager will also work closely with team members to achieve common goals of on-time delivery while maintaining a high level of brand standards. Creative Director, EatingWell

The Creative Director will define the look and feel of the brand through EatingWell Magazine, EatingWell.com, EatingWell books and custom publications. The Creative Director must be a visionary thinker who can help translate EatingWell's focus on food, health and "origins" into compelling print and digital formats. Must be able to create compelling visuals that inspire readers to cook the recipes in the issue and inspire them to live "the EatingWell" life. Photo Director - Runner's World

Rodale Inc. is currently seeking a Photo Director for their Runner's World magazine, located in Emmaus, PA. This position reports to the Design Director. Must be a creative and conceptual thinker with a sophisticated eye and strong visual point of view to help steer the imagery for this monthly title.

This position will entail management of the staff and daily operations of the photo department, including: -Conceptualizing photo treatments with Design Director, designers, and editors to illustrate stories in all sections of the magazine. -Researching, pitching, and assigning photographers for all sections of the magazine. Graphic Designer in Berlin

Design team leader

Gannett's Phoenix Design Studio is looking for a team leader to manage production of two newspapers (and their related products) and supervise the work of 10-12 designers. Candidates must have prior newspaper experience, managing deadlines, conceptualizing work and directing the efforts of others. Freelance production artist

Freelance production artist needed two weeks out of the month to work on the flagship publication and two additional newsstand only specials. Must be fluent in K4 and CS5.Will work closely with the Creative and Art Director, managing editor, both photo editors, pre-press, photo retouchers and the staff editors. Responsibilities include: color correcting all 4-C art on our softproofing station, relaying the corrections to our photo retouching department, preparing all of the final pages for uploads, putting all of the pages into rounds, keeping track of all of the edit and art changes from round to round, placing all of the high res files int o the layouts, making sure the workflow between art and edit meet the daily and weekly deadlines, maintaining all of the style sheets, attaching all the elements after the layouts are approved, preparing the Cover template with the correct UPC codes, and approving all of the finished files in Insite with the Creative and Art Director.

Summer Graphic Design Intern

The art department at Surface Magazine seeks a graphic design intern for the Spring/Summer semester, 2012. You will be working closely with the Assistant Art Director. This is an unpaid, part-time/full-time internship (receiving college credit is optional).
