Director of Marketing/Communications Design & Production

The Director of Marketing/Communications Design & Production is a full-time position in the Office of External Affairs, within the department of Development & External Affairs (DEA). The position reports to the Director of External Affairs. The ideal candidate sets the stylistic and artistic direction of communications and marketing materials for all of DEA and serves as a resource for the rest of the College. Primary responsibility is the design/production of Teachers College's core publications as well as execution of high priority design/production assignments from DEA leadership, both print and online. I'm starting a weekly, English language, Berliner size, newspaper in the Indian state of Kerala, India. I'm looking for a designer to help me in the initial phase. Senior Designer

Parents magazine is seeking a designer with 5+ years experience in editorial design to work on front-of-book and feature pages for our print edition. The Sr. Designer will work in our friendly and creative environment, directly with the Art Director and Creative Director, as well as collaborating with story editors. They will oversee their pages from design to close, order art, and check for accuracy. SD may assist Art Director with color and page proof review, and contribute ideas for evolving type and design of the magazine. The Sr. Designer will assign illustrations and communicate with illustrators and be in charge of sending out contracts. Periodically, SD will design special Parents brand projects (house ads, type for videos, presentations, etc).

Art Director/Rethinking Schools POSITION SUMMARY Rethinking Schools is seeking a talented art director to take responsibility for the design and layout of Rethinking Schools magazine, including a compelling front cover, interior, and ad placement. Rethinking Schools is published quarterly; each issue involves approximately 5-6 weeks from initiation to print. The art director works closely with the production editor to develop conceptual ideas for the cover and specific articles, and then contracts with freelance illustrators, artists, photographers, and cartoonists to find and/or develop art to complement the articles appearing in the magazine. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Integrated Marketing, the Design Director will be responsible for the conception, design, and execution of innovative visual materials for the integrated marketing department. Such materials will include custom advertorial sections, comps, and all marketing and event collateral.
