Art Director - PEOPLE Bookazines Dynamic and autonomous art director/designer needed to produce special-edition issues, known as bookazines, under the People imprint. Photo Assistant - Women's Health

The Photo department at Women's Health is seeking an enthusiastic, organized Photo Assistant to start immediately.  This individual will be expected to participate actively in a fun culture of innovation and teamwork.  The position is based in Women's Health New York office, reporting to the Photo Director.

Candidate must be extremely organized and detail-oriented.  They should have excellent communication skills, work well in a team, and be knowledgeable of photo archive systems and have a background in photography.  Key Responsibilities:

·         Assisting Photo Director with day-to-day scheduling and administrative duties and providing support for the photo department staff when needed.
·         Work on the Women's Health photo archive system.
·         Booking all aspects of travel and compiling/completing expense reports through the Concur expense system.
·         Work with retouchers and work on stock photography research for the front of book sections.
·         Maintain and organize the prop closet
·         Oversee the still photography with our Emmaus, PA studio
·         Contribute to the many needs of the Photo department

Freelance Designer, Chicago Magazine

Chicago magazine is seeking a freelance designer to work in our editorial art department. This person will work closely with our design staff on print and digital editions of the magazine. Responsibilities will include designing front of book and special sections, assigning photos and illustrations, and generating graphics for print and digital versions. Experience with editorial print design and translating print work for an iPad edition are absolutely required. Three or more years of professional experience are preferred. Ideally this will be a full-time freelance position through the end of the year, but we are open to applicants with part-time availability as well. Candidates should be self-starters with great communication skills. This is a fast paced environment where you'll work with a small, dynamic staff. Our office is located in downtown Chicago. Imaging Assistant

Digital Designers

The Washington Post is assembling a team of designers to better serve the growing number of people who read us on mobile devices. These staffers will work on new products as we introduce them. Designers should be able to demonstrate a strong command of news design and digital production, while working on deadline in a fast-paced environment.
