Lead Motion Graphic Designer (Contract)

    BuzzFeed News is looking for an experienced and dynamic motion graphics designer who has an understanding of broadcast graphics to work on our new daily morning show on Twitter. In conjunction with the design director and show runner you'll be helping us building out our core graphics suite that will be used throughout the run of the show and defining the on-screen experience for viewers on a daily basis. Type of projects: Show opener Franchise/segment show graphics and logos Transitions On screen text/graphics Lower thirds Bumpers Graphics for packages Successful candidates will have an interest in news, command of typography and hierarchy, a proven track record of creating graphics for TV or webcasting, enjoy a tight deadline, is a team playe and enjoys working in an ever evolving format. This is a short-term role starting in late August and continuing through mid-October with the potential to extend.

  • Job Requirements: BFA/BA in Graphic Design, or equivalent professional experience 3-7 years of animation and motion experience 1-2 years in motion design work for broadcast or webcasting Familiarity with web standard graphics and codecs a must Expert usage of After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Experience in Cinema4D, 3ds Max or equivalent 3D software A killer portfolio with relevant examples of previous client work
