People Magazine Art Department Scanner

Low Resolution/FPO scanning for People magazine. (full-time position) Looking for a, experienced person with EXPERT knowledge of Photoshop (cutting of silo's; slight retouching; etc...) who has excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task to join a small three-person team. Along with FPO scanning this position also involves electronic routing and tagging of images in order to maintain our in-house photo database system. Please note that the volume of work is like a production house as we work on many projects simultaneously with the weekly magazine. Occasional weekend work may be necessary in the event of a breaking news story. Knowledge of SCC MediaGrid photo management system a plus, but not necessary

Art Director/Designer

Time Inc (TIHE) Books division is looking to hire immediately, an experienced Art Director/Designer to produce 2 unique popular cuture newstand bookazines upcoming in the first 2.5 months of 2014. Topics are confidential, will supply specifics privately. Full time, good pay. great working environment. If successful, will likely lead to more work. Project One: Begin Entire month of January, part of first week of February. if you can start before end of December, SPEAK UP. we may have work before the holidays but if you cannot begin till Jan it'll just be a bigger hustle. Project Two: Begin early to mid January, work through February, part of first week of March. Design packaging motif, all pages and cover.

LONG-TERM FREELANCE SENIOR LEVEL DESIGNER/ART DIRECTOR

The designer will design features and packages, as well as shorter stories for the weekly, attending photo layouts and attending meetings with editors, reporting to the managing art directors and the Design Director. Consider the position "hired heavy artillery", so you must be a strong conceptual designer, excellent at type treatments and story telling, with a really keen sense of narrative and impact. Must be experienced with articulating ideas and advocating for the best possible solutions while remaining extremely flexible and lighting fast with the necessary changes inherent to a weekly pace. 5 days a week, 1 late night a week, but a flexible schedule might be accommodated. Must be self-directed and a pro-active team player with killer design chops and an keen interest, if not a passion for, entertainment and news coverage. This job is not for the timid nor the passive. Seeking insightful, pro-active contributors for a special development project for Time Inc. October 4-7, and the 12th (that date negotiable) , 2010. Ideally should have some experience with, and appreciation for women's fashion and beauty. Experience level will determine day rate.
