This opportunity will allow students interested in editorial design to learn directly from HGTV Magazine's art and photo department. Interns will learn what goes into photo research, requesting high resolution images, shopping for props, assisting at photo shoots (in-house and on location), printing/calling in portfolios and much more. The intern will get the chance to shadow the art department and help with brainstorming concepts, updating & designing layouts. The ideal intern possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the eagerness to learn. We value those who have a love for editorial design and photography and have an interest in home design and DIY. You MUST receive college credit for this internship, proof of credit is required before beginning this internship. Maternity Cover- Photo Director/HGTV Magazine

HGTV Magazine is looking for a temporary Photo Director to cover a maternity-leave from mid-March through mid-June. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, resourceful, flexible, hard-working problem-solver with an eye for detail and a passion for decorating and lifestyle. This key position manages the photo department, assigns photography, produces shoots, prepares estimates, oversees the photo budget, negotiates contract and rates, fulfills photo research, and works closely with editor-in chief, art department, and editors.

Must be highly organized, efficient, and proactive; able to multi-task and meet deadlines; and have excellent interpersonal, Photoshop, and InDesign skills. Responsibilities include photo research; designing presentations and magazine pages; inputting credits; liaising with photographers; coding invoices; creating and distributing call sheets; updating calendar and layout wall; coordinating deliveries; and organizing server and archives.
