Assistant Professor - Broadcast Design/Motion Graphics

Position responsibilities include teaching basic, intermediate and advanced broadcast design/motion graphics courses. The preferred candidate is a working professional with experience in applied theory of broadcast design principles and current industry standards including proficiency with software applications such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects. Preferred candidate would have a broadcast reel and portfolio of professional work along with a background in art direction /or graphic design. Departmental duties include participation in department advisement, curriculum development, student activities and college-wide committees. The successful candidate is expected to pursue creative, scholarly and professional activities at a level appropriate within the communication design profession. Teaching assignments may include day, evening and Saturday courses. Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

Assistant Professor - Digital Concept Art

The preferred candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in several areas, including but not limited to illustration, character design, image editing, storyboarding and animation. An Ability to communicate both technical and conceptual topics is required in addition to expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and other industry drawing applications. Candidates should also have experience with drawing tablets. All applicants should have at least five years relevant experience as a professional illustrator in, for example, the areas of editorial, book publishing, games, or interactive commercial artwork creation. University level teaching experience is also required for this position.
