Serving as a general assistant to the Art Department, the Art Assistant liaises with the Photo Department to traffic artwork, prepares for film edit and layout review meetings, regularly updates layout mock-up boards, and executes basic Photoshop and InDesign requests as needed. Freelance Photo Assistant, Architectural Digest

AD is seeking a responsible, motivated full-time assistant-level freelancer to work with its photography department. The assistant will support the photo editors on a range of tasks, primarily administrative, but also photo research and production, as needed. Ideal candidates are entry-level recent grads with an interest in editorial photography and publishing who are available for full-time work. This is a great opportunity for photography (or related) majors with an interest in interiors, architecture, luxury lifestyle, art and design. Candidates should be organized and detail-oriented, able to multitask, and have strong communication and computer skills.

Associate Art Director (Freelance), Architectural Digest

This is a No. 2 position in the editorial art department, to start as full-time freelance with the possibility of becoming a staff position. Candidates should be detail-oriented and possess a sophisticated design sense, have a strong grasp of typography, and have specific experience in managing projects from conception to completion under tight deadlines. Responsibilities include designing well features and FOB editorial pages for the print magazine, as well as generating concepts and designing layouts for AD's digital tablet editions. He/she will also provide design guidance to junior members of the team as needed, and will undertake other art direction assignments at the request of the Art Director.

Intern, Architectural Digest

Architectural Digest is seeking a responsible, motivated intern to help in its Photography and Design Departments from September through December 2012. Candidates should have a keen interest in the media--specifically, in the areas of photography and/or design--and must be able to receive college credit for the internship. This is a great opportunity for Photography or Graphic Design majors, or for someone who has a serious interest in interior design or architecture. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask; strong computer skills are a must. This intern will work directly with the Photo and Art teams, and will learn all facets of magazine production, from project submission and photo trafficking to layout design and shipping.
