POSITION SUMMARY:
For this role, we are seeking a content visionary and senior leader for a global, multi-channel digital content program. If you have cultivated a career in media over the past ten or more years, consistently rising up the ranks at media organizations and have the talent to manage teams in the telling of interesting and compelling stories to various audiences, along with the skill to present and pitch creative ideas to C-suite level internal and client teams, then this role is the next step in your career. This is a high-level, client-facing role that will provide just the right challenge for high-achievers.
The Creative Director will be responsible for the creative vision - our client's unique editorial POV in the marketplace, idea generation and content development -- in line with the content marketing strategy for one of our key clients. As the senior-most content team member, reporting to the SVP, Executive Creative Director this position will be responsible for interpreting client needs and objectives, translating them into brand-centric, innovative content plans, organizing internal and external resources, including partner agencies. This requires a dynamic leader.
The high-level responsibility is to execute a content marketing program against a content strategy grounded in driving business results, building brand and deepening customer relationships.
This position is in our New York, NY office.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's in Journalism, Communications, English an MA Interactive Media or similar program, a plus
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years experience in content development; may include design and photo experience, editing, writing, reporting, interviewing and at least 2-4 years of recent experience in senior-level editorial management/content development for a multi-channel content program that will have included channels in print, web, mobile and social for a mid-to-large media outlet or brand (sectors may include retail, hospitality, telecommunications); luxury lifestyle and travel experience are a plus.
Skills: Strong leaderships skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and project management skills are a must.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Lead the creative vision and execution for a multi-channel global content program including print, digital editorial, digital commerce, campaigns, newsletter, social and photo/visual strategy.
• Instill confidence in our client and continue to demonstrate our ability to manage complicated and measurably effective content programs, from ideation to measurement and optimization
• Support the application of content marketing strategy tasks for a large-scale content strategy/optimization project across many channels, including, most importantly, a large e-commerce channel, blogs, social, mobile and some multilingual sites. Tasks may include: (content creation) editorial strategy, messaging guidelines, developing a content planning matrix, taxonomy definition (with IA), auditing, editorial calendars, (governance) process, workflow, approval (distribution & reuse) implementation of a structured content model and engagement strategies.

• Be passionate about connecting with audiences and moving them to do something!
• Serve as the lead content representative on client calls and calls with partner agencies
• Lead thinking around brand partnerships, influencer content partnerships and other opportunities to amplify ongoing content activities within the luxury travel media space
• Manage a team that will include content creators, editors content strategists and producers
• Investigate, probe, question, challenge and lead thinking - collaborate with research and analytics, as well as the media and creative teams
• Provide consultancy services to teams and clients within New York and other offices where required
• Proactively identify opportunities for new content development for the client and new business opportunities for Pace
• Partner with the internal account team in the creation of client presentations and pitches
• Collaborate with internal teams including, design and development, analytics, account and project management
REQUIREMENTS:
• 2-4 years in management-level digital experience (content, social and/or digital strategy)
• Experience in working with integrated marketing teams
• Must have a strong management background including managing team growth and development of junior team members.
• Must have active social media presence, curiosity for new technologies and strong understanding of measurement and metrics; A proven track record of successfully strategizing and executing interactive programs that drive business goals
• Visibility at Pace and with the client is essential - must have strong presentation and public speaking skills.
