We're looking for a smart designer to join our award-winning new project at Politico Magazine, which publishes daily online and bimonthly in print. A strong eye for photography and experience assigning illustration are essential. Key duties include photo research; helping to coordinate photo shoots; designing front-of-the-book pages; preparing images for print and acting as the key liaison with the printer; and assisting daily design needs for the website. The ideal candidate to partner with our creative director will be a natural team player and collaborator who has a relentless attention to detail; ability to take direction and work closely with other members of the team to find the best visual storytelling for our journalism; excellent time-management and organizational skills; knowledge of prepress and print production; and a demonstrated ability to work on deadline. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is essential, as well as a basic knowledge of Illustrator.
