Redbook Magazine (Hearst Corporation) is seeking energetic graphic design students for an internship in the Art Department for the Fall 2012 semester in New York City. Candidates should be eager to learn about how the design department of a national magazine runs. Responsibilities include research, maintaining wall of printed layouts, minor imaging work, and general administrative duties such as organizing inspirational reference material, and occasionally assisting the Creative Director. Candidates should be pro-active, have strong communication and organizational skills, and a strong working knowledge of CS5; particularly InDesign and Photoshop. Work will be assigned based on ability. Duration: late August--end of semester. A commitment of 2-3 days a week is required (10am to 6pm). Most importantly, you MUST be able to receive college credit. This is an unpaid internship, but the experience is great! Send cover letter, resume, and a pdf or web link of sample editorial design work to efriedmann@hearst.com.
