Job Overview: Atlanta magazine is seeking an energetic, highly confident, hard working, and self-motivated individual to lead our newly relaunched quarterly HOME publication. As art director of Atlanta magazine's HOME, your primary responsibility will be to conceive and art direct the quarterly shelter publication, but you will also contribute regularly to Atlanta magazine and be an integral part of our four-person creative team. In between issues of HOME, you will help out with marketing materials for Atlanta magazine and Atlanta magazine's HOME. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead Atlanta magazine's HOME quarterly publication through the entire design and production process (finalizing lineup, assigning and art directing photo shoots, designing layouts, print production, color correction, proofs) Work closely with the HOME editor to conceive and execute a visually inviting and clean magazine Cultivate a deep roster of contributing illustrators and photographers for HOME Art direct photographers and stylists while attending photo shoots for HOME Manage the budget for HOME While not working on HOME, contribute to the monthly Atlanta magazine by participating in brainstorm sessions, pitching story ideas, and designing editorial pages Design marketing materials for Atlanta magazine and Atlanta magazine's HOME for events, print, and online while in between HOME issues Successful candidates will possess the following skills/abilities: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Experience working on a shelter publication is preferable, but not required Good eye for photography and styling Highly organized Comfortable with juggling multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment Experience with pre-press and production--we are a small team and this is an integral part of the job Highly collaborative, as the art director will be a part of a four-person creative team
