We are looking for a paid intern to join our design team starting in February. We are looking for a candidate that could work 2-3 full days, M-F 10a-6p. We can be flexible based on classes and other activities. The intern would assist in designing elements for the magazine and website.

Billboard Design Intern

Billboard magazine is seeking a paid design intern to work two days a week in our New York City office. Roles include: laying out templated pages, creating graphics for our web rollouts and social pages, help organize our list of illustrators. We are looking for someone who could start mid-July.

Guitar World, Revolver and Guitar Aficionado Art Dept Intern

NewBay media is looking for an intern to assist on Guitar World, Guitar Aficionado and Revolver magazine. Candidates should be at least sophomore level in a design program, and be very familiar with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. We are looking for a quick learner who is passionate about magazines. You will have the opportunity to work on three different publications, all with their own styles, so you will need to be able to adapt. Duties will be determined by skill level, but our goal is that you would have some impressive work for your portfolio by the time your internship ends. Ideally the candidate would be available to work two days (11-6) or three half days, but we are completely flexible. The internship is unpaid, but we offer school credit if it is needed.

Design Director

Guitar World and Guitar Aficionado magazines are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic Design Director. This person will be responsible for a monthly magazine, our bi-annual Buyer's Guide, special issues, a bi-monthly magazine, instructional DVDs and marketing materials. This person will manage the day-to-day workflow of the magazines and act as a liaison to Edit, Sales, Marketing and Production departments. This is a hands-on position that involves designing covers, features and department pages as well as preparing files for print production and digital formats.

Story Worldwide Spring Internship

Story Worldwide is looking for a gifted and motivated intern to join our design team for the Spring semester. The intern will assist on a variety of projects, including the production of Endless Vacation magazine, both print and iPad editions. We are seeking someone with a strong interest in publication design, who is also knowledgeable and excited about digital and multi-media formats. Candidates should have a keen sense of design, strong working knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator, and basic knowledge of HTML and Flash. This intern should be available to work three days a week in our midtown New York office from 10AM to 6PM, be able to attend industry events, and will be compensated with a daily food/travel stipend.
