Art Director - Budget Travel

Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel is looking for an Art Director to design our award-winning, bimonthly magazine. The job is primarily devoted to designing the magazine, but there is also occasional work for the marketing and on-line departments, as well as the potential for designing tablet versions of the magazine. The "budget" part of our name runs deeply through our identity: the design budget is itself small, so our art director needs to be creative with resources, as well as with her/his design vision. (You will be designing graphics and maps, as well as the features and covers.) That said, this is a great opportunity for a designer to put her/his mark on a publication and to become a full partner in the creation of a beloved and terrific magazine (if we do say so ourselves).
