Art & Production Assistant

WSJ. Magazine seeks an enthusiastic and detail oriented candidate with excellent multitasking skills to support the art and production departments. Candidate will work closely with the Production Director and Art Director. This role also functions as a vital liaison between WSJ. Magazine and other Wall Street Journal departments including, web, tablet, marketing and newspaper. We're a lean team so this is a great opportunity to have an integral role in creating a high-circulation, monthly magazine! Responsibilities include: - Assist art department in all day-to-day aspects including layout presentation, marketing materials, workflow organization and interdepartmental communications - Assist Production Director with imaging and shipping workflow - Work with photo department to ensure that visual assets are prepared for print and digital publication - Translate printed assets into web and tablet platforms Skills for the ideal candidate: - Highly organized - Superior attention to detail - Strong ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines - Excellent communication and collaborative skills - Passion for publication design, photography, and typography - Interest in fashion and luxury content a plus
