Designer for Washingtonian Magazine Washingtonian is seeking an imaginative, collaborative, and relentlessly ambitious designer for its creative department. For 50 plus years, the award-winning city magazine for the Washington DC area has been a home for groundbreaking feature writing, essential service journalism, and arresting visual storytelling. We're looking for someone who can help us take the magazine to the next level, designing in a high-caliber team of designers, photo editors, and staff photographers. Official responsibilities include: -working closely with and collaborating with Creative Director designing new solutions for Front of the Book -designing compelling well and department features -collaborating with staff and freelance contributors -manage special projects as needed from concept to execution, including Digital - redesigns, special interest publications, company initiatives, etc. -working with editors on visually-driven story ideas Unofficial responsibilities include: -Contribute to a freewheeling creative environment where staffers are encouraged to cook up ambitious ideas big and small -inspire and contribute to a talented team of designers and editors wanting to collaborate -setting and maintaining high visual standards; and having a lot of fun while doing so Please send your cover letter, résumé, salary requirements, and samples (no larger than 10MB) or a link to your online portfolio to with senior designer in the subject line.
