As you may have noticed, we're gearing up for PUB51. And while the competition is open to anyone, SPD Members get a HUGE discount on entry fees (not to mention a free copy of the annual itself amongst other things).

So if you're not currently a member, now is an awesome time to join! And if you can't remember what your membership status is, it's easy to find out: we've just implemented a new membership system, so you can log in and see your membership status and history at anytime.

So the Gala was totally awesome, right? (If you haven't already seen all the pics, check them out now). We got tons of great entries in our new SPD 49 competition categories. Our speaker events have been a big hit (check out the Esquire event and video events online now if you missed 'em!). Our newest SPD 48 annual is just hitting mailboxes now (share your #SPDshelfie on Instagram or Twitter!). And our Student Design Competition winners are just about to start their prize internships. All this incredible stuff AND our blog (more "Covers of the Day" and other great series to come) and student programming too ... what's not to like?

If you've enjoyed any or all of these, why not become a member of SPD now, or renew your lapsed membership. Besides getting a ton of discounts and other great benefits (that we'll be adding to throughout the coming year), we can't do all these cool things without you. If you're an SPD Member (and if you're not, why not join now?), have you taken our 2014 Member Survey yet? We promise it only takes a few minutes! But the info is a HUGE help to us as we plan and produce future events and opportunities.

It really does take only 3-5 minutes, and it's totally anonymous! You DO have to log-in to the SPD member site to access the survey, but after that your answers are then saved anonymously and not linked to your profile at all.
