It's the Final Countdown!

For those of you who have somehow missed it:

The Student Design Competition
Deadline is MONDAY.

As in, THIS COMING MONDAY. As in 3 measly days from now. As in March 2, 5pm. If your stuff isn't in our office by 5 pm this coming Monday, March 2 (did we mention the deadline is Monday?), then your entry will not be part of this year's competition. No excuses, no extensions. Welcome to the real world of deadlines!

Update: Fashion Event Closed

Our Fashion Talk speaker panel event tomorrow night is now fully booked to capacity and no more RSVPs are being accepted.

Didn't RSVP in time? Well, then use that time instead to work on your Student Competition entry! The deadline is Monday, as in 5 days from now.

Calling All Photo Students!

As you've probably seen, SPD is in the thick of things this time of year with PUB 44, our annual Publication Design Competition, and our Student Design Competition (deadline Monday, March 2nd!).

With both of these competition, the winning entries are published in the SPD's hardcover Publication Design Annual -- and this year, for the first time, photography students have the opportunity to be part of this world-class competition, and to have an incredible number of potential future employers see their work in the SPD Annual. Only 7 days left!

Our Student Competition deadline is NEXT MONDAY, March 2. All entries must be at our SPD office by 5pm, so whether you mail it, FedEx it or bring it yourself, make sure it arrives on time as all late entries will be disqualified. Click here for all the competition details.

Fashion Magazine Speaker Panel Next Thursday 2/26

EVENT FULLY BOOKED, NO MORE RSVPs BEING ACCEPTED
Is the Devil Wears Prada your favorite book or movie? Did you wish you could be on "Stylista"? Do you dream of working at a fashion magazine? Then this panel is for you! Come hear staffers from Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, Nylon and Vogue and a Ford fashion model discuss the fantasies and realities of designing and art directing in the fashion mag world.

Tick Tock

A friendly reminder that Monday, March 2, at 5pm is the ultimate deadline for our Student Competition. What? You haven't even started? No worries, some of our past winners didn't create their entries till the weekend before! Not that we suggest that, of course.

Meanwhile, we have some speaker sessions in the works for the afternoon of Monday, March 16 in midtown, so put a hold on that date and look for more details to come very soon. And a fashion-magazine-themed speaker panel is also being planned. We'll post the details when we've got 'em.
