The 2011 PUB(lications) CRAWL: It's On.

Our Pub(lications) Crawl is a day-long event where you'll get to tour the offices of two fantastic magazines for an in-depth look at the way things really work. This year we're visiting Billboard, HGTV Magazine (a startup!), Maxim, Money, Parents and TIME magazines -- all ready to give you behind-the-scenes access to the real workings of a major magazine.

This year, we specifically scheduled it for a Friday early in the semester when you can (we hope!) coax your professor into excusing your absence, or bringing your whole class along too! Come armed with your curiosity and questions, and prepare yourself for a very unique tour of great magazine-making. Space is very limited, so RSVP to reserve your spot after the jump...

Show & Tell Student Jury Winners: Gallery 1

The results are in! After much intense consideration, the results are in for the SPD Student Committee's first-ever juried show of student design work, SHOW AND TELL, and they're spectacular. We will be featuring all of the work in three successive posts, so you can see it all and savor it. We'll be following the Gallery Posts with a grand finale that spotlights the two top winners and some of the thoughts the jury had in selecting them. Next Pub Crawl is 9/30

We're still in summer-mode (can you tell by our not-so-active posting lately?), but things here at SPD-Student Headquarters are starting to kick into high gear. We'll be posting the first of THREE galleries of top designs from our Show and Tell Juried Show tomorrow, but for today? Mark your calendars for an all-time favorite event...

This year's one and only Pub(lications) Crawl will be happening Friday, September 30 here in NYC. It typically starts at 9:30am and goes through about 4pm. We'll be posting all the details and the participating magazines by the end of the month, but in the meantime, save the date.

And if you're within a train, bus or car ride's distance of us, we highly suggest you consider making the trip ... it's a truly rare opportunity to get a first-hand look at the art and design departments at some top-notch magazines.
