- The partners behind the Chicago-based creative studio Knoed have a great article geared towards the graphic design graduate.

- Designer Frank Chimero has a lovely roundup of random advice.

Charles Wheelan has some graduate advice most people will never tell you, over at the Wall Street Journal. (They have a Careers section that has some other good stuff in it.)

- Designer Shauna Haider (aka Nubby Twiglet) has some tips on how to get back into graphic design after pursuing other work, and much of it is great advice for recent grads on how to pump up your resume and portfolio.

- Some great info over on the Savvy Intern blog.

- One of the toughest parts of the job hunt is not getting a job you really wanted. HR Dave has some tips on how to handle it (and some other great advice too).

Best of Collegiate Design Entries Due Tuesday! And Other Stuff...

While school's officially over (or almost!) for the 2011-12 academic year, you're probably not too anxious to do more work. Well for our new competition, the Best of Collegiate Design, you don't have to! It's all about what you've already done ... Worked on your college newspaper, magazine, yearbook or online publication? Then enter your stuff now! We've got an awesome panel of judges lined up, ready to see what you've got! Entries are due this Tuesday, the 15th, so enter now!!

Speaking of competitions, we're excited to meet our top winners in our 2012 Student Design Competition tonight at the annual SPD Awards Gala ... we'll be officially awarding these talented students on stage with all the other award-winning professionals, just one of the cool parts of their winning prize.

As you prepare for your summer internship, check out this article from TIME magazine about getting the most out of it.

Our 2012 Student Design Competition Top Ten

David Lettermen has his famous Top Ten. American Idol and all those other reality shows celebrate theirs as well. But nothing compares to our 2012 Student Design Competition top ten! It was a great bunch this year ... you've already seen our first, second and third place winners. Now you can take a look at the rest of the awesome work rounding out our top group.
